A digipak is similar to a standard CD case but instead, it is made of card (or other sources of material) packaging which inside traditionally holds a CD with the tracks of an album. In the late 90s and early 00s, the popularity of digipaks increased radically among 'fans' because they wanted to feel attached to the artist, in addition, digipaks were and still are a good merchandise technique for music labels to attract consumers, and it's also a product that fans purchase which will benefit the artist to boost popularity and obtain revenue in order to achieve high levels of profit.

To create a contrasting digipak, I'm willing to use the design and elements of a k-pop mini album. Giving a brief idea of kpop albums, it's a different version of a digipak which appears to be more complex, every album may express different unique ideas, nevertheless, all of them include a set of specifications that makes k-pop albums different from traditional digipaks: a photocard (picture of a certain artist), a poster, a photo book (containing all the concept shoots from the album) and other staff (stickers, calendar, signatures, etc.)

COVER IDEA, MY INTENTIONS AND HOW THIS LINKS WITH MY MUSIC VIDEO

The concept of the album is about 'the artist trying to move on from her past love and seeking to find a new romance', to achieve this, I'm eager to portray a 'queen' kind of look to convey that she is powerful even though she failed in love. Traditionally the term 'queen' is a symbol of royalty and power, they are also seemed as kind and warmhearted. I'm going to be inspired by Asian fashion since I'm passionate about its style and the artist is Asian.

In the "Perfect Velvet" album, various shades of red are used to emphasize the dangerous and dominant nature of the group members. For my digipak, I will also utilize the color red, but with a different connotation that conveys empowerment, femininity, and the longing for a new romantic connection. I plan to incorporate the color red extensively in my music video, including in lighting, lipstick, clothing, and props. This will establish a strong connection between the visuals in my music video and the overall aesthetic of my digipak.

Moreover, I will utilize a black blanket in the music video, similar to Kali Uchis' album cover, where she is featured on a blue silk blanket. This will convey a sense of elegance and opulence.

In my previous research and analysis of Rosé's music video 'Gone,' I analyzed the colorful dress she was wearing as well as the elaborate makeup. All of those elements combined created a sense of 'refresh and new me idea,' so I wanted to recreate and bricolage that scene, but with a completely different aesthetic, to convey the feeling of the singer moving on and being independent.
