RESEARCH IN MUSIC COMPANIES

I'm doing this research on music labels or conglomorates because almost every 'star' are owned by a company. The purpose of this reserach, is to create my own company by designing an unique name and a logo to show that I have ability in terms of branding and marketing.

RESEARCH IN MUSIC LABEL 'YG ENTERTAINMENT':

YG Entertainment, established by Yang Hyun-suk in 1996, has become one of South Korea's most successful entertainment companies, known for their focus on hip hop and R&B music. One of their key strengths is their ability to identify and develop talented artists through a rigorous selection process that only signs artists with potential to become stars. They prioritize quality over quantity and release highly anticipated and well-received albums. YG also emphasizes the visual and aesthetic elements of their artists' performances, which contributes to their strong brand identity. Additionally, YG manages some of the most well-known K-pop groups and artists both in South Korea and globally, including Big Bang, AKMU, Winner, Blackpink, Treasure, and BabyMonster.

These are some well-known Asian music entertainments including in Korea, China, Japan, etc. All of them have got a remarkable logo with a catchy name, company logos are really important because it is the first element that communicates ownership and the values of the company. The company logo needs to grab attention, make a strong first impression, foster brand loyalty, and identity, be differentiated from competitors, and most importantly memorable.

FINAL CHOICE: L.C. ENTERTAINMENT

MOST KPOP COMPANIES INCLUDE THE WORD ENTERTAINMENT AT THE END OF THE COMPANY'S NAME.

The name includes ENTERTAINMENT because I want to provide an enjoyable music video to entertain and hold the attention and interest of my targeted audience.

REFERENCE LOGO:

I really find appealing the logo design of YG ENTERTAINMENT because it's both simple and unique.

I did some sketches of logo ideas for my music entertainment label inspired by YG's logo design. I'm very satisfied with the ideas because in my point of view they look memorable and creative. The logo that was made with a black marker is personally my first choice because I view it as more complete than the other designs. There is an L on the left side and an inversed C on the right side which highlights the abbreviation of my full name. Afterward, I made a digital version of the logo with the app PROCREATE.
